Abstract
The basis for naturalizing morality requires overcoming the Normativity Objection. Antony and Garcia respond to the objection by showing the overlap between moral normative oughts and moral natural is-es. Furthermore, they propose a so-called novel framework for naturalizing morality: ethical structuralism with moral nativism. The appeal to moral nativism may be insufficient for many reasons. Firstly, moral nativism explains how humans access moral objects but does not account for proto-morality in other animals. Secondly, moral nativism is challenged by the Moral Twin Earth thought experiment. Thirdly, moral nativism is a proposed solution to one of the problems with structuralism but does not account for the other three "basic challenges" outlined by Reck and Schiemer. As such, I believe justifying ethical structuralism through moral nativism is insufficient.
