Mark your calendars for the 31st annual MassURC, taking place on Friday, April 18th, 2025. As a presenter, you will participate in a full-day research conference hosted at UMass Amherst. During this event, you will sharpen your research synthesis skills, foster peer and faculty connections, and cultivate essential communication and networking skills.

Conference Day Overview
Arrival

As you step onto the UMass Amherst campus, you’ll be greeted by the buzz of academic enthusiasm. Get ready for a day filled with inspiration and learning.

Parking

We encourage attendees to use the Campus Center Parking Garage at 1 Campus Center Way, Amherst, MA. The garage uses a pay-by-plate system that accepts credit cards. After parking, enter your plate number in one of the garage kiosks along with the number of hours you expect to stay. Choose “yes” to enter a coupon code for 50% off. The discount code is 25MURC. From the garage, walk outside or through the lower-level tunnel to the Campus Center to join your MassURC colleagues.

Keynote Address

Kickstart your day with an inspiring keynote speech at 9:15 a.m. in the Marriott Center on the 11th floor of the Campus Center. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Catherine Buell of Fitchburg State University, whose interdisciplinary talk, Let 2+3=3: Continuing Scholarship through Redefining Your Field and Finding Your People, will invite you to explore new directions across the sciences and humanities. Our keynote speaker will share valuable insights and set the tone for a day of exploration and discovery.

Presenting and Networking

Immerse yourself in the midst of MassURC’s bustling poster showcase. These visually engaging presentations allow for in-depth discussions, immediate feedback, and visual representation of your findings. Poster boards and pins will be provided, ensuring a professional display of your work.

Take this opportunity to also explore the diverse range of research projects showcased by your peers. Engage in stimulating conversations, exchange ideas, and broaden your horizons by learning about research in various fields.

Connect with fellow attendees, faculty and researchers interested in your work. These sessions are designed to foster meaningful connections, opening doors for future collaborations and intellectual growth.

Enjoy a delectable lunch at UMass Amherst’s renowned #1 in the nation dining locations! Both the Blue Wall and Harvest Café are conveniently located in the Campus Center for a la carte dining. Your name badge will also entitle you to a discounted rate of $8 at the UMass Dining Commons (Worcester DC is closest).

We are pleased to offer a sensory decompression room. Just head over to Room 165 for a quiet place to sit and take a break.

Campus Tours

We are pleased to partner with the UMass Amherst transfer admissions office to offer campus tours at 11:30 AM and 2:15 PM. Space is limited and preregistration is required.
