ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility Statement

Welcome to the Massachusetts Undergraduate Research Conference (MassURC), where we are dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment for all. As we transition back to an in-person conference, we remain committed to ensuring accessibility for all presenters and attendees.

If you require special assistance or accommodations, please make sure to fill out the **Accommodations/ Special Request** field when submitting your Abstract. Please note that while we strive to be an inclusive, accessible conference, unfortunately not all requests can be guaranteed. Abstract submissions and accommodation requests are due by the abstract submission deadline of **February 23rd**. Subsequent accommodations requests may be made after this deadline up until March 15th by emailing [Alice Feldman](mailto: conference@honors.umass.edu), our conference coordinator with “Accessibility” in the subject line.

Examples of Accommodations:

While we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment, please understand that we may not be able to fulfill all requests. Your detailed request helps us make every effort to enhance your conference experience.

Recognizing that online formats can offer unique accessibility advantages, we want to assure our presenters that MassURC is taking steps to ensure a seamless in-person experience. We are proud to provide equipment for all presenters, including poster stands and pins to securely display your research posters. In addition, we offer guidance and resources to help you design accessible academic posters, ensuring that your work reaches a broader audience.

We look forward to making MassURC an amazing experience for all, and we appreciate your commitment to making our conference truly inclusive. Please explore the resources on this page, including a guideline for creating an accessible poster presentation, and a free color-contrast checker, to help ensure your content is accessible to a wide audience.

Together, we can celebrate diversity and make MassURC an accessible and inclusive space for all students to showcase their research!
