As offshore wind energy continues to expand, having accurate data is very important to improve its design and efficiency. In this project, we systematically gathered information about wind farm boundaries, layouts, and water depth for more than one hundred offshore wind farms worldwide, including both existing and under development sites. The collected data has been digitized and will be made available in an open-source Python format, allowing wind energy researchers and industry developers easy access to it. The open-source package will be an important tool for pre-assessment and economic evaluation of offshore wind power plants.

As of now, we are working on using this dataset alongside optimization techniques to improve the electrical infrastructure of offshore wind farms. By combining the data collected with optimization methods, we hope to make wind farms more efficient and lower costs. This research helps improve offshore wind farm development and supports the growth of clean and renewable energy.
