Abstract

Music of the Worlds is a collaborative project focusing on developing and refining workflows and asset pipelines for both visual and audio assets for games and other multimedia projects. The project's scope was limited to 3 stylistically unique scenes created in the Unity game engine, using various other software for asset creation. Nicholas Green was responsible for the creation of all 3D assets, and Ronan Cords was responsible for all audio assets. All three scenes were created as a team, with tasks being delegated after the concept was decided upon. All assets were then created and implemented independently, with quality assurance happening collaboratively.

All 3D assets were created originally in Blender, in accordance with industry standard practices regarding development pipeline, model optimization, UV practices, and texture generation. Assets were imported for use into the Unity Engine’s universal render pipeline, and assembled into the final environments showcased throughout this project.

The audio assets were created with a variety of industry standard software, the specifics of which were determined by the needs of the asset. All music assets are original compositions, taking reference from various sources depending on the genre and needs of the scenes, while the sound effects were sourced from multiple online, free to use libraries and modified to fit the scene as well as possible. Audio middleware was then used for implementation, easing the process while allowing for more modifications and preferences to be added to each individual asset while experimenting in Unity.
