Abstract

I have created a study guide for the actuarial P exam which includes probability and applying it to real world examples. My project was done as my bachelor's thesis, the purpose of creating the study guide was to help future students at Fitchburg State University who are also interested in the actuarial exams. As we do not have a dedicated actuarial science program at FSU so I wanted to provide some guidance for anyone else interested in the field.

As much of the information was new to me, my process of researching was using information provided by the society of actuaries as well as help from my faculty advisor. Using the practice exams provided by the society of actuaries has provided great insight into making the study guide as those questions are designed to be applicable to the real exam. I wish to get college students more involved with actuarial science and the P exam is a good place to start.
