Abstract

The project aims to address the data management challenges encountered by a retail company by implementing a comprehensive Relational database solution using MySQL platform. Leveraging a dataset sourced from Kaggle, the project entails the creation of tables to organize and store different data types. It establishes essential relationships between tables. This involves using SQL queries to perform operations like selecting, aggregating, and joining data to gain insights into the information stored in the database. Through the execution of various SQL queries, we can analyze and retrieve data from the database. The queries that I ran are designed to support data analysis. This allows us to analyze customer behavior, product sales, and other aspects of the retail data. This analysis can provide valuable insights into patterns, trends, and metrics related to the business. The outcome involves the successful setup of the database, the creation of structured tables, and the execution of insightful data analyses within a retail context. In the future, the project plans to look into ways to connect with other systems to make business tasks easier and to add security features for protecting data. The project represents an advancement in enhancing data management and analysis capabilities for the retail company, future improvements will make the system work even better and be more user-friendly.
